6 p.m. July 24: Sarap and Kraken Congee at Supino

50.00

Three years ago, we launched our pop-up Sarap, with our first dinner at Supino Pizzeria. We weren't sure what to expect. What we didn't expect was to sell out both seatings, a sign that people are hungry to see another option for Filipino food in metro Detroit.

Since then we have made so many new friends not only in Detroit but also around the country who share the same vision as we do: to embrace and raise up the food and culture of the Philippines. We have collaborated several times with our friend Yana Gilbuena, who is spreading the gospel of Filipino food not just in the U.S. but all over the world through her nomadic dinners. We traveled around the country such as San Francisco and Chicago, where we met our friends from Filipino Kitchen to do Kultura. We went to the Philippines and learned so many things about the food and made even more friends.

So to celebrate our third anniversary of good food and friends we are delighted to bring back our good friend, chef Garrett Doherty, who co-founded Kraken Congee. He first brought us out to Seattle last year to do his Kasama Dinners and then we brought him here last September for a kamayan dinner at Brooklyn Street Local. On July 24, we go back to where it all began: Supino Pizzeria. Help us celebrate our third anniversary by joining us for a special collaboration dinner!
